UN Climate Change Conference (COP23 | CMP13 | CMA 1-2)
23rd session of the Conference of the Parties to the Framework Convention on Climate Change, 13th Meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol and 1st - 2nd Meeting of the Parties to the Paris Agreement
The UN Climate Change Conference is the annual Conference of the Parties (COP) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. Since 2005 the conference has included the Meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (MOP) and in 2016 was expanded to include the Meeting of the Parties to the Paris Agreement (CMA).
The annual COP is the supreme decision making body of the UNFCCC. In this international convention, all developed countries have committed themselves to reducing their greenhouse gas emissions.
At COP21 in Paris, the first Climate Agreement was adopted, which lays down obligations for all 195 parties to the UNFCCC.
